Foreman / gCMOB login
Try it free on CP PlusHow to log in to gCMOB
gCMOB is the CP Plus app for watching your cameras on a phone. Most people get stuck on one question: which password does it want? In most cases it is the password of your recorder (the DVR or NVR), not a gCMOB account. This guide covers what to enter, how to add your recorder, how to log in from a browser, and what to do if you forgot the password or the recorder shows offline.
01
What you log in with
gCMOB uses the username and password of your recorder or camera. Your installer set these when the system was put in. The username is usually admin. The password is the one chosen at that first setup. If gCMOB is asking for a password you don't have, your installer is the person to ask.
Two other passwords can also show up, and people mix them up. gCMOB has an optional app lock, called Protection, that asks for a password every time you open the app. That one protects the app on your phone. And there is the CP Plus cloud account, covered next. Neither of them replaces the recorder's password.
02
Is there a separate gCMOB account?
There can be. CP Plus runs a cloud service called InstaOn. Its recorder manuals tell you to register an account after you download the app, and the app's privacy policy describes signing up with an email address, a username and a password. gCMOB can then import the recorders tied to that account, so you don't add them one by one.
This account is different from your recorder's login. It is a way to keep your recorders together under one login. Each recorder still has its own username and password, and gCMOB asks for them when you add it. CP Plus's own setup steps add a recorder with a name, the recorder's username and password, and the QR code.

Add your recorder by QR code or serial number
This is the usual way, and it works from anywhere without router changes. First check that the recorder is online. On the recorder's screen, go to Main Menu, Network, InstaOn. Tick the box to enable it, press Apply, and the status should change to Online. The recorder needs internet for this.
You can also add a recorder by its IP address when your phone is on the same network as the recorder. gCMOB offers three ways to add a device: IP or domain, InstaOn, and Wi-Fi setup.
- 1. Open gCMOB, tap the menu, then Device Manager, then the add button.
- 2. Choose Add Device, then InstaOn.
- 3. Type a name for the recorder, then its username and password.
- 4. Scan the QR code under Device SN. It is on the sticker on the recorder, and on the recorder's own screen under Main Menu, Network, InstaOn. If the QR code won't scan, you can type the serial number instead.
- 5. Tap Start Live Preview. Your cameras should appear.
04
Log in from a browser (web login)
gCMOB is a phone app, so it has no web page of its own. What people usually mean by gCMOB web login is opening the recorder's own web page in a browser. That works from a computer on the same network as the recorder, such as the same Wi-Fi or the same router.
- 1. Find the recorder's IP address. On the recorder's screen, go to Main Menu, Network, TCP/IP. CP Plus manuals list a factory address of 192.168.1.240 or 192.168.1.245 depending on the model, but your installer has probably changed it.
- 2. On the computer, open a browser, type the IP address in the address bar and press Enter. If your installer changed the web port, type it after the address with a colon, for example 192.168.1.20:70.
- 3. A login box appears. Enter the recorder's username and password. The default username is admin, and the password is the one set at first setup.
- 4. The first time you open live view, the page may ask you to install plugins first. Follow the prompt. CP Plus lists its web plugin files at cpplusworld.com/software, under Orange. Only download them from there.
- 5. If the page still won't load, try another browser. One CP Plus NVR manual lists Safari, Firefox and Chrome.
05
Forgot the password
Only two people can fix this properly: your installer, who usually keeps the recorder's password, and CP Plus support. gCMOB can't do it. CP Plus says in its own FAQ that a DVR password can't be reset from gCMOB.
During first setup, CP Plus recorders ask for a reset email address or security questions. If one was set, the recorder's login screen and its web login page have a Forgot Password option that uses it, and the security code sent by email works for 24 hours. If none was set, write to CP Plus support at support@cpplusworld.com, or call its technical support line on +91 88009 52952. Keep the recorder's model and serial number ready.
You will find videos and sites that promise to get you past the password. We don't cover those here. Stick to your installer and CP Plus.
06
Account locked after wrong tries
CP Plus recorders lock a user after too many wrong passwords. Its manuals say five wrong tries in a row lock the account, and the default wait is 30 minutes. On older DVRs, three wrong tries in a row also set off an alarm on the recorder. Some newer models let the installer change the number of tries and the wait.
So if gCMOB says wrong password, check which password you are typing before you try again. The recorder wants its own, not the app lock or the cloud account password. If the account is already locked, wait about 30 minutes, then try once with the right one. On some DVRs a restart unlocks it sooner, but waiting is the simple way.
07
Common problems
- Device offline: check the recorder has internet. Under Main Menu, Network, InstaOn the status should say Online. CP Plus's FAQ says a recorder with no internet can be added but stays offline.
- Offline only when you are out: a recorder added by IP address only works from the same network. Add it again by InstaOn, with the QR code or serial number.
- One camera offline, the rest fine: CP Plus's FAQ says to check the network cable, an IP conflict and the camera's power.
- Still can't connect after updating gCMOB: CP Plus asks you to write to support@cpplusworld.com with the recorder's model, its firmware version and a short description of the problem.
Questions
Questions, answered.
What is the gCMOB username and password?
The username and password of your recorder or camera. The username is usually admin. The password was set when the system was installed, so ask your installer.
Is there a gCMOB website to log in?
No. gCMOB is a phone app. You can open your recorder's own web page by typing its IP address in a browser on the same network.
Do I need a CP Plus account to use gCMOB?
CP Plus's own steps add a recorder with just its username and password and the QR code. A cloud account is described separately, and gCMOB can import the recorders tied to it.
Can I reset the recorder's password in gCMOB?
No. CP Plus says a DVR password can't be reset from gCMOB. Use the recorder's own reset, your installer or CP Plus support.
Does gCMOB work with other brands?
No. CP Plus's FAQ says gCMOB supports only CP Plus Orange series products.
Can I watch my cameras on a PC?
Yes. CP Plus makes Windows software called KVMS Pro Lite, listed at cpplusworld.com/software. See our guide to gCMOB for PC.
