How to watch your CP Plus cameras on a PC

gCMOB is the CP Plus app for watching your cameras on an Android phone. On an iPhone the same app is called iCMOB. CP Plus makes them for phones only, so there is no gCMOB download for Windows. Any site offering a "gCMOB for PC" file is not CP Plus.

01

The free CP Plus software for your PC

The good news: CP Plus makes free Windows software that does the same job, called KVMS Pro Lite. It shows all your cameras on one screen, plays back recordings and works with the same recorder you already use in gCMOB.

02

What you need

  • A Windows 10 or 11 computer.
  • Your recorder's serial number (sticker under the DVR or NVR, or in gCMOB under the device details), or its IP address if the PC is on the same network.
  • The recorder's username and password, the same ones you use in gCMOB.

Set it up in five steps

  • 1. Download KVMS Pro Lite from cpplusworld.com/software (under Orange). Only download it from there.
  • 2. Install it. Run the installer you downloaded (if it came as a zip file, unzip it first), and allow it through Windows Firewall on your private network, or it can't reach your recorder.
  • 3. Set a password for the software when it first opens. This protects the software on your PC. It is not your camera password.
  • 4. Add your recorder: Devices, Add, then choose serial number (works from anywhere, no router changes) or IP address (best on the same network). Enter the recorder's username and password.
  • 5. Open Live View and double-click your recorder to see every camera.

04

Want the phone app on your computer?

You can run gCMOB inside an Android emulator like BlueStacks: install it from bluestacks.com, open Google Play inside it and install CP PLUS gCMOB by Aditya Infotech Limited. Fine for a quick look; KVMS Pro Lite is steadier for a screen that stays on all day.

05

Common problems

  • Device offline: if gCMOB on your phone also shows offline, the recorder has lost its internet, not the PC.
  • Wrong password: it's the recorder's password from when it was installed; your installer has it. Too many wrong tries can lock the recorder for a while.
  • Black or stuck camera: switch that camera to the sub stream (Extra stream). It needs less bandwidth.

Questions

Questions, answered.

Is there a gCMOB app for Windows?

No. Use KVMS Pro Lite.

Is KVMS Pro Lite free?

Yes, from cpplusworld.com.

Does it work on a Mac?

CP Plus doesn't make separate Mac software. On a newer Mac with an Apple chip, the Mac App Store may offer iCMOB, the iPhone app, though Apple marks it as not checked for Mac. Otherwise use your phone.

Can I open my cameras in a browser?

Many CP Plus recorders open when you type their IP address on the same network; some need the web plugin from the same CP Plus software page.
