Jute mills along the Hooghly, tanneries and leather-goods units at Bantala, Howrah's foundries and engineering shops, garment floors and packed godowns: Kolkata's industry is old, dense and full of stock that burns or walks. Foreman plugs into the DVR you already own and sends a WhatsApp or Telegram alert, with photo proof, the moment something goes wrong. Setup takes about 30 minutes. Free 14-day pilot on 4 cameras, no card.

Kolkata and its river belt run on jute, leather and metal: jute mills with acres of baled fibre, the Bantala leather complex where hides, chemicals and finished goods sit side by side, Howrah's foundries and machining shops, and garment and printing units squeezed into every lane. Buildings are old, wiring is older, and stock is packed tight.
Every one of these units has CCTV, and almost none of it is watched. Fires in baled jute, theft of finished leather and metal, and gate games on night shifts are found the next morning, on footage, after the loss. Foreman changes what those cameras are for: from recording losses to preventing them.
- Software only, runs on the DVR and cameras you already own
- Watches every camera, every second, across every shift
- Alerts on WhatsApp or Telegram with photo proof, within seconds
Fire watch for jute bales, godowns and old wiring
Baled jute is one of the most unforgiving stocks in India: once it catches, it smoulders deep and reignites. Leather units carry solvents and finishing chemicals; old godowns carry decades-old wiring. A fire seen at second ten is an incident. The same fire at minute ten is a mill floor gone.
Foreman watches your cameras for the first visible signs of smoke and flame and alerts you in seconds, with a photo, while the fire is still one corner of one stack. It complements your certified fire-alarm systems; it never replaces them.
- Visual smoke and flame detection from existing cameras, day and night
- An early layer on top of, never a substitute for, certified fire systems
- Every event is double-checked before an alert fires, so alerts stay real
Night theft, shift attendance and looms standing still
Finished leather, brass and copper castings, jute bales and garments all have buyers waiting, and most of it leaves at night. Foreman knows when your premises should be empty and flags any person or vehicle near your godown, gate or stock when no one should be there.
Rules are written in plain Bengali, Hindi or English: "raat dosh tar por godown e keu dhukle, chhobi soho amake sathe sathe janao." Foreman follows that rule every night without blinking. By day it counts heads shift by shift, so attendance matches reality rather than the register, and flags looms and machines that sit stopped while wages run.
- After-hours intrusion alerts around godowns, gates and stock
- Headcount and attendance, shift by shift, from the cameras you have
- Idle-machine tracking: late starts, long stops, looms not earning
- Daily WhatsApp/Telegram digest plus a weekly PDF report
Works on the DVRs Kolkata installers already fit
Foreman plugs into existing Hikvision, CP Plus and Dahua DVRs and NVRs, the brands we see most across Bengal, and most other standard RTSP/ONVIF CCTV. No new hardware, no new cameras, no rewiring, even in older buildings. Setup takes about 30 minutes, done remotely with your own CCTV installer or computer guy, on normal broadband.
Detection runs on-site, so continuous footage stays inside your unit; only short clips around a detected event go to the cloud for a second check before any alert fires. Clips are stored in India and auto-deleted after 30 days. We never sell data.
- Hikvision, CP Plus, Dahua and most standard DVRs/NVRs supported
- About 30 minutes to set up, remotely, with your existing installer
- Plans from ₹2,999/mo; free 14-day pilot on 4 cameras, no card

Frequently asked
Will Foreman work on my existing DVR, or do I need new cameras?
It works on the CCTV you already have. Hikvision, CP Plus and Dahua are the brands we connect to most across Bengal, and most standard RTSP/ONVIF DVRs and NVRs work too. No new cameras, no rewiring.
My mill building is old and the cameras are basic. Will it still work?
If your DVR or NVR gives a standard RTSP/ONVIF stream, Foreman can watch it. Our own AI models are trained in-house for Indian conditions: dust, dim sheds and low light included.
Is this a replacement for my fire alarm?
No. Foreman detects the visible signs of smoke and flame through your cameras; it is not a heat or smoke sensor. Keep your certified fire-safety systems in place. Foreman adds a fast visual early warning on top, which matters most with stock like jute.
Does it work in Bengali?
Rules can be written in plain Bengali, Hindi or English, in your own words. Alerts arrive on WhatsApp or Telegram with photo proof either way.
What does it cost for a typical Kolkata unit?
Sentry ₹2,999/mo (6 cameras), Supervisor ₹7,999/mo (16), Factory OS ₹19,999/mo (40). Annual prepay = 2 months free. Start with the free 14-day pilot on 4 cameras, no card.
Where does my footage go?
Detection runs on-site, so continuous footage never leaves your premises. Only short clips around a detected event go for a second check; they are stored in India and auto-deleted after 30 days. We never sell data.
